First Meno Madia guests

Hi fam ๐Ÿ™‚

Well our first guests were the bestest first guests we could’ve asked for. Originally Dutch – and still Dutch of course – they lived in Kenya for 11 years and have been in NZ for 14. They own,ย and are the cooks, in the only Indonesian restaurant in Napier. On TripAdvisor it is consistently rated in the top few restaurants in that city.

They were a really nice couple and yesterday we took them to Made’s mum’s place – via the local markets and Sire Beach – and Made cooked up grilled fish, a curry and a banana desert, all Lombok style.

It was a great day and ended by them shouting us drinks and snacks at our closest beachside restaurant back on Gili Meno. Followed by Made playing the guitar to them back at the bungalows. I think they really enjoyed their stay.
During their stay we gave them the choice of breakfast at the beachside restaurant or at the local warung. They chose the latter and we ended up having breakfast with them three of their four mornings.

They were well travelled and very interesting and nice. Now they are on their way cross country over Lombok to Flores to do a live-aboard dive. They have almost convinced me to give diving a go!

Yesterday we had plans to get more plants from Made’s village but as it was the only day that suited our guests to go to Lombok with us those plans were postponed. But this morning while we were cleaning the room we had a door-to-door salesman arrive – nice!
