Still

Two years today, this morning…

a mere fragment of time really; an eternity.
Here’s my poem of the moment.
Writing poems helps me cope. Sharing to honour.
With love for you today, my beautiful man.
Thank you for still staying close.

STILL

still
your hearty laugh your tender whispers
seep into the silent in-betweens
still
your goodness true your gifts forever
hold me to this life of dreams
still
your songs your stories swim deep
in the ocean of my thoughts
still
our lively discussions breathe
grit into my jaded hopes
still
our love our bond help glue the
unstuck bits of my core
still
tattooed across my soul is
everything that was us
still
the sparkle in your eyes
light mine
still
the imprint of your hand
warms mine
still
want to remember and
want to forget
still
rest my weary head
and sigh
still
glad your spirit’s
found peace
still
darkly richer for
loving you
still
condemned but
not over
still
can’t but must
believe
still
dream of then
and when
still
fail you when
I weep
still
ache for your
pain
still
grateful for
you
still
love you
always
will
